I fell in love with Linda's voice after hearing her sing at the TVB Extravaganza banquet. I just loved how sweet her voice sounded and how much melody she had singing Sandy Lam's Honesty, so I couldn't wait to hear her song on Lady In Red. The first time I heard Swear was from a clip of Linda's live performance at the Lady In Red concert. It was just a snip of the chorus, but just from that preview, I knew I would love the song.
Swear is easily my favorite song on the Lady In Red album. I can listen to it whenever and wherever and it will put me in a nice, calm mood. I just love the harmony of the melody, Linda's voice, and the lyrics. Everything flows so well and Linda's singing doesn't disappoint. She doesn't have a lot of range, but her singing still sounds nice and very refreshing. Swear is a feel-good and super sweet song.
I love this song so much that I listen to it on a daily basis and have it set as my ringtone! Linda's music video for the song is the best MV out of all the ones included in the bonus Lady In Red DVD that came with the CD. She looks very sweet and beautiful in it and I love the clips from her upcoming series in which the song serves as the subsong.
Linda did a great job in making Swear her own and I look forward to hearing her sing some more in the future.

It's all about "Swear" and Linda. :D I really have to thank Sandy for translating the song for me. :) I translated most of the chorus, but it was she who did the rest of the song. :P I just brushed up the translation a bit afterwards.

Ahh... the fifth and final installment of "Lady in Red" is here. Saving the best for last, did you? :P I had a sudden singing urge last night and recorded this song. Such pity I didn't wait till today since your pin yin makes a lot more sense to me, and the English translations' a huge bonus. :)
BTW, I'd imagine you probably have a lot of missed calls the first time you've set "Swear" as your ringtone since you probably couldn't bear interrupting the beautiful melody. :P

Yup, I'm all done with Lady In Red now. It's only been 2 months since it released... but it seems so much longer!
Well, you can re-record the song now. ;) I've also put some meaning into it for you. :D Unfortunately, I don't have enough passion to translate the other songs.
You can have Swear as your ringtone too - I've included the midi version which I use for my ringtone. :) You bet - that's the bad thing about having a great ringtone - you never want it to stop ringing. Haha.

hey i really want to ask why linda cant act that good and why she want to be more popular. i m angry because tavia is gone somewhere and how come tavia dont take some of lindas movies? linda has a bunch of movies coming soon wheres tavia. as tavia's fan i dont see anything fair? also i heard of the high rating of forensic heroes. its not all linda's credit. its the "WHOLE"cast "NOT ONLY" linda. she cant hog all the glory. i see that linda is pretty and all but thats not fair she is the only one that get promoted that quick when she dont have proper skills.
P.S. i m really sorry if i offended anyone or any linda fan. i just dont see the fairness.

anonymous #2 - LOL. I'm biased like that. :P Honestly, the other girls' songs are nice too, but I really do not have the bandwidth to spare on them! Translating songs take a long time because the lyrics are kind of weird (like poetry), so I'm not really passionate enough to do a full feature on them with pinyin, English translations, etc. Hope you understand. :)
anonymous #3 - Linda never claimed credit for Forensic Heroes success. She did not once say that it was because of her. She was just happy and celebrated with the rest of the cast - what's so bad about that? The true stars of FH are Bobby Au-Yeung, Yoyo Mung, and Frankie Lam.
In regards to Tavia, she's been filming long grand production series, so of course she won't have time to film a lot of series. Grand production series take longer to film. That is much better than filming non-grand production 20 episode series. As a Tavia fan, you really do not have to worry about TVB "demoting" her because that's far from the truth. I think the whole thing is just getting blown way out of proportion.
Tavia & Linda both have their own successes, promotion, talents, popularity, etc. We don't have to compare them.
It's not Linda's fault either. You can't blame TVB for liking her & you mustn't degrade the success & popularity that she's gotten.

I think Swear is a suprise and shows that linda has potential to become a successful singer...perhaps even better than acting.
her voice is great but a melody and lyrics of the song is not too original. Very nice to listen to but not going to be a hit.
you have to agree with me that myolie's singing is the best in the album, perhaps even better than miriam's(i'm a miriam fan). And Bernice's singing is not bad too.
All in all the album's really good, but linda's song is certainly not the best. Really hope tvb could give her a better song next time.

i personally dislike linda's voice when she talks but i agree with you in that she sounds very nice while singing "Swear".. i mean at least it covered her squeaky-ish voice. i havent been in your site for a while but i read the "recasting of grey's anatomy".. what a great article. keep on the good work.

anonymous #4 - I never denied that Myolie's singing was really good and that her song is one of the best. I've said already that her track was one of the best and that she has incredible range & singing abilities. :) I just said that Swear is my favorite - a difference between being "the best." :P
jenny - Welcome back! :) Linda's working on strengthening her voice and it's improved a lot since she first started. It is definitely deeper and stronger. With time, she will have more control over it. Charmaine Sheh had the same problem when she started. Personally, I love Linda's speaking voice. It sounds very cute. :P

'Swear' was alright....it wasn't the best. I thought all the songs were mediocre. Bernice sings great in a recording studio, but sucks singing live. If you listen carefully to Linda's voice near the end of Swear, her voice is a bit shaky - kind of sounds like she's singing under water. Myolie has a great voice -- and sings great in live performances, sounds just as good as recording.
PS---Metal, my friend is Linda's cousin --- lol are you jealous? Just kidding.... =)

Myolie does sing very well and her execution of Fortunately is superb, but I don't fancy the song much. Maybe I need to watch War and Destiny to become obsessed with it. :P
While Swear isn't the best and Linda needs improvement and more refinement in her singing, I just love listening to it somehow. The melody is sweet.
Bernice is probably nervous when it comes to live singing... either that or they edit somehow in the studio until she gets it right.
Nah, not jealous. I would be if your friend was Linda's friend. Hahaha.
