Storyline Overview

Happiness doesn't come easily. During the Ming dynasty, the Kams made a wish to stay together forever. Having been reincarnated in modern times, they are finding it increasily difficult to fulfill their wish.
Kam Nin (Frankie Lam) had a romance with Joey (Bernice Liu) in the past, but because of situations, the two couldn't be together. Years later, Joey finally regains her memories and wants to be with Ah Nin. She goes to Shanghai to find him. To her dismay, his memories are wiped clean and he has no recollection of her, his family, or the past. Even more, he is engaged with Rose (Kenix Kwok). As the family try to help Ah Nin regain his memories, they uncover a dark secret...
Fiona (Sherming Yiu) is Lau Ka Sing's (Hawick Lau) princess of a wife. They thought that they were going to live happily ever after in her castle, but fairytales don't come true in reality. Fiona's father grows ill in health and she is the heir to the throne. Because of this, she becomes entangled in a case of accusations, rumors, and corruption. A power struggle results and she and Ah Sing flee for their lives. Thus, the couple are forced to live in Hong Kong in the overcrowded apartment of the Kams. Just when Fiona adjusts, she receives a mysterious letter. Clues lead everyone back to the Islands and Fiona struggles to win back everything that's rightfully hers...
Hung Bak Lam (Linda Chung) and Sze Gee San (Steven Ma) undergo marriage problems. The past between Ah Lam and Ah Sing is discovered. Ah Lam becomes pregnant and Ah San encourages her to settle down and be a housewive, but she refuses. At these times, she finds the console of Ah Sing. Ah Sing is also driven to Ah Lam due to his problems with Fiona. This leads to a love rectangle...
Finally married, Lau Gam (Louis Yuen) and Wan Ying Gei (Yvonne Lam) have problems with getting pregnant. Meanwhile, Kam Yat (Joyce Chen), through the help of her husband Ko Yi Hong (Johnny Tang) comes to terms with her genuine dreams. Kam Yuet (Michael Tse) and Lam Yuk Lo (Bondy Chiu) feel the strain of having twins after twins.
Just when Kam Sa Sa (Kingdom Yuen) is peacefully with her husband Sek Dai Kei (Lee Kwok Lun), his past returns once again. The mother of Ah Hong, Anna (Lo Yuen Yan) is dying and repents her horrible actions in the past. She wants to reconcile with her past and die peacefully. This, however, causes Sa Sa to be envious and makes her believe that they are reuniting...
Man Gwai Fei (Stephanie Che) is unable to find a husband even with her 42-inch legs. When Ah Nin returns to "Ka Yan" company, she develops a liking towards her nemesis. Just as Joey and Ah Nin are starting a romance, Gwai Fei discovers this. She is bitter that he rejects her and vows to become his boss. Through her schemes with cousin Man Gwai Yan (Celine Ma), she successfully becomes "Ka Yan"'s owner and inflicts much pain on Ah Nin. As he struggles along without a job and a bad reputation, Joey is there to support him. Jealousy continues to erupt in Gwai Fei and she makes it increasily difficult for the two and everyone else with her evil plots....
In the past, Chan Kiu (Helen Ma) had a pair of twins. Not only did she give birth to Sek Mei (Cutie Mui), but she also had a son, Sek Biu (Raymond Lam). Because of gambling debts, Kiu was forced to plead her younger sister, Chan Hung (Sheren Tang), for help. Because Hung and her husband cannot have kids, they take Ah Biu as part of the deal. Now grown up, Ah Biu wants to know who his real parents are. As a police cadet, he is disappointed when he discovers that his parents are selfish and greedy....
Wong Lai (Maggie Siu) left Wong Sheung (Lau Dan) after Joey was just a few months old. Because of this, he is very bitter and doesn't acknowledge that she is still alive. However, he doesn't know the truth of the matter. It is because of her that he is able to be the millionare that he is today. Further, she was pregnant at the time she left. She returns to Hong Kong because of her son's, Wong Lok (Bosco Wong), wishes....
Chung Ka Ting (Leila Tong) abruptly arrives at the Kams' house in Hong Kong. She is an immigrant from the mainland. She is a sweet girl blessed with charm and beauty. Her mom was Nim Chi's good sister, but she died in a fire. After that time, Nim Chi vowed to take care of her. Ah Ting knows what poverty is and swears to rise to the top. Because of this, she has a love for money and a problem of stealing. Seeing that the Kams are rich, she plots to break up their family and steal their fortune....
Through a set of coincidences, misunderstandings, and workings of fate, the family start to drift apart. Yau Nim Chi (Nancy Sit) saddens under the situation for she has worked all her life to have a big, happy family. Now, everything is falling apart.... Can the Kam family find true happiness and live together? Through a set of dramatic and comedic storylines, "Virtues of Harmony III" depicts what happens to the future of the lovable Kams and friends that everyone has gotten to know over the years.
