Sa Sa's (Kingdom Yuen) package finally arrives. Nim Chi (Nancy Sit), Ah Sing (Hawick Lau), Joey (Bernice Liu), and Fiona (Sherming Yiu) decide to go to "F&B" company early the next day, before Ah Nin (Frankie Lam) enters his company.
["F&B" Company]
"Ah Nin," Nim Chi calls.
Ah Nin looks around until his eyes finally land on plump Nim Chi. Rose (Kenix Kwok) stands by his side, with her arm looped into his. She holds him tighter as Nim Chi, Joey, Ah Sing, and Fiona approach them.
"Ah Nin," Nim Chi calls again when she reaches him.
"Damn, I called security last time to remove you people from my office. Must I call the police this time?"
Nim Chi shoves their family pictures into his eyes. "Look, this is proof that we aren't lying."
Ah Nin goes through the photos, shocked to see his image in all of them with a bunch of unfamiliar people, including the plump one, who claims to be his mother, who stood before his eyes. He can sense the bliss that must have existed when the photos were taken. He tries hard to remember these events, but nothing comes to his mind. His head start to ache and he grows dizzy, dropping the photos on the ground.
Rose supports him from falling. She rushes him inside, despite of the protests from the others.
Fiona bends down and picks up the photos, feeling resentful that she has to do such work. Nim Chi wants to go inside "F&B" company to find Ah Nin, but Ah Sing stops her, telling her that it's not a good time.
[Ah Nin's Office]
Rose hands Ah Nin two pills of aspirin and a cup of water. After resting awhile, he turns to a silent Rose and asks, "Do I know those people?" There is a look of great curiosity and worry in his eyes. They twitch back and forth, hoping that Rose could provide an answer.
"I'm not sure," she says quietly.
"I can't remember them at all. But, I'm clearly in those pictures... how can that be?"
"Maybe they altered the photographs and you are really not there at all."
"It can't be. My expression in each picture was genuine and different. But why..." his head starts to ache again.
"Do you think they're telling the truth?"
"They seem sincere."
Rose is quiet, uncertain of what to say.
Ah Nin is puzzled, "I'm sure that I don't have any family. You told me that and you would never lie to me. Rose, you and your father are the only two people in the world that I can trust and you're the only one with a deep impression in my mind. But all of a sudden, these strange people from Hong Kong tell me that they're my family. I really don't know what to think." Ah Nin holds his head. "In fact, I can't remember my childhood or anything at all. The only thing I seem to know is you."
Rose holds him. "That's all that matters. As long as you have me, nothing else should be a big concern." She kisses him. "Now stop thinking nonsense."
"But, Rose..."
"You shouldn't think too much. Remember what the doctor said?" He nods. "Good. If it'll make you feel better, I will talk to these people myself."
"Thank you, Rose," Ah Nin gives her a sweet grin.
[Hotel]
"Well, hopefully this is the right place. Daddy's men are never wrong," Rose thinks to herself as she knocks on the door.
A surprised expression appears on Nim Chi's face at the sight of her visitor. "You're the girl from the other day and this morning," she says.
"Yes, that's right. Hello, auntie, nice to meet you."
"Come in," Nim Chi welcomes her.
"What have you come here today for?"
"Well, it is about Chris..."
"My son?"
"Are you really his mother?"
Nim Chi nods. She fetches the family photo album and home videos, showing them all to Rose.
"Well, I have no reason to doubt you now."
"Rose can you tell me what happened exactly? Why did Ah Nin lose his memories and become the way he is today?"
Rose becomes teary, "It's a long story. I can't help but start to cry whenever I think about what happened. Give me a minute." Rose calms her nerves and wipes her tears with a handkerchief. She exhales deeply. "Ok, I'm fine now. A few years ago, Chris joined my daddy's company through the recommendation of his friend from Hong Kong. From the start he was always such a hard worker and became a favorite around "F&B" quickly. He won my daddy's support and quickly climbed up the company. Of course, he also befriended me. One day, however, he got into an accident and was in a coma for three months. I was so scared and thought he wasn't going to wake up. But I was faithful and went to see him everyday. Through my dedication and prayers, he woke up. However, he suffered from amnesia and didn't know who he was or where he was. Through therapy and my support for a few months, he became increasingly better."
"Oh, sweetie, you're Ah Nin's savior then," Nim Chi takes Roses hands and gives her a comforting smile.
"During this time, I developed a relationship with Chris and we became really close," Rose smiles remembering the sweet moments. "My daddy and I became Chris's family and we were the only people in his memories. The doctor says that the impact of the accident was so bad that the chance of regaining his past memories is very slim. So I just told him that we're his family and told him not to worry about the past because he has me, and I thought that would be enough." Rose's voice cracks as tears flow down again, "I didn't know that his past included such a big family. I'm so sorry!"
"Honey," Nim Chi hugs Rose, "it's fine. You didn't know." She wipes her tears and strokes her back. "If it wasn't for you and your care, I'm sure that Ah Nin wouldn't have recovered so quickly."
Rose sniffs, "But don't you worry. Now that I know you're really his mother, I will help you guys reunite." She bids farewell. A smirk emerges on her face after the shuts the door. On the other side, Nim Chi was thrilled because she finally discovered the truth and would have help in reclaiming her son. She couldn't wait to tell the others of the good news. Rose walks off, her high heels clanking on the ground.
