"Mr. Wong," Man Gwai Fei (Stephanie Che) begs.
"This is ridiculous!" Wong Sheung (Lau Dan) shouts.
"You gave Michelle her own designer because she requested one!"
"That's because she clearly needs one."
"I have needs too! I've been working for 'Ka Yan' for over 10 years. Please, Mr. Wong!"
"Sugar (Yau Ching) has been doing a great job by herself for years. Why do we need another accountant?"
Gwai Fei shows him some paperwork. "Look, this is what Sugar has been giving us!" She points out the mistakes, "She misses a 0 here, she subtracted incorrectly there, and she..."
"So we do need a new accountant, then!"
Gwai Fei nods her head. "Yes, yes! We need another one badly."
"Wait," he suddenly calls, "This is not from our company!"
Gwai Fei blushes. She had taken the wrong 'evidence'!
"Mr. Wong," Sugar knocks on his door, "This month's paperwork is done."
"Good, bring them in."
Sugar smiles at Gwai Fei, who rolls her eyes, and puts the pile of paper on Wong Sheung's desk. "I checked all of the calculations and figures twice."
Wong Sheung shows Gwai Fei the papers, "See! All correct."
Gwai Fei makes faces as she walks out of his office.
[Gwai Fei's Office]
"Damn, if I can't get Yan Yan a job, who knows what she will break next," Gwai Fei bites her nails. She observes Sugar's actions through her office's window and hopes to catch a mistake so that she can report it to Wong Sheung. She notices that Sugar is holding a bottle of nail polish and runs out of her office.
"Sugar," she yells, "How dare you paint your nails during business hours!"
"Miss Man! You've mistaken. I was taking this bottle away from GiGi (Josephine Shum) and confiscating it so that she wouldn't paint her nails. I was only doing the company well!"
GiGi says, "But Miss Man, it's 11:59 PM, almost time for lunch!"
"Well you're a minute too early so you're getting a warning letter!"
"Miss Man! This is so unfair!"
When Gwai Fei walks away, she hears GiGi telling Sugar, "Some friend you are."
[Women's Bathroom]
Gwai Fei hears the sound of sobbing coming from the bathroom.
"Sugar?" she exclaims.
"Miss Man."
"Why are you crying? You did the right thing for the company!"
"But now GiGi hates me!"
"So? It's only one person!"
"I can't live with someone hating me. Please help me, Miss Man."
"Help you? How can I when you did nothing wrong?"
"Don't give GiGi a warning letter."
"She receives warning letters like presents anyways. It's just another letter for her collection."
"Miss Man, please! I'll do anything."
Gwai Fei raises her eyebrow. "Anything?"
Sugar nods, "Please."
"Tell Mr. Wong that you need someone to help you."
"What do you mean?"
"I want you to tell him that the workload is too much for you to handle alone. 'Ka Yan' needs another accountant."
"But Miss Man, I've been handling it alone for years! He might think I'm inadequate for the job and fire me!"
"Don't worry about that. I'll support you."
"Really? You'd do this for me, Miss Man?"
Gwai Fei smiles forcefully, "I love every one of my employees!"
"Oh, you're so great Miss Man! So GiGi isn't getting a warning letter and I'm getting an assistant?"
"Yes."
[Wong Sheung's Office]
"I'm surprised at your request, Sugar," Wong Sheung says.
"'Ka Yan''s business has been improving lately and so there is a lot more work to do. I can't handle it all!"
"Well, in that case," Wong Sheung motions for Gwai Fei, "Athena, since you suggested this in the first place, any candidates for the job?"
Gwai Fei nods her head in glee, "Yes, I have the perfect one."
"Okay, I trust your judgment. Bring the person in for me to see whenever you can."
"How about today?"
"So soon?"
"There's no time like the present!"
[Gwai Fei's Office]
"Yan Yan, I want you to get dressed in your nicest clothes, put on some make-up, and take a taxi to 'Ka Yan' company," Gwai Fei instructs.
"Make-up? I don't need it! I'm naturally beautiful."
Gwai Fei rolls her eyes and thinks to herself, "Yes, you're only beautiful to ghosts."
[Wong Sheung's Office]
"Mr. Wong, greetings," Gwai Yan (Celine Ma) says in a girly voice.
Wong Sheung is taken back by her appearance. He clears his throat, "Are you a trained accountant?"
Gwai Yan looks at her cousin, who nods her head. "Why, yes, I am. I have a lot of experience."
Gwai Fei interrupts, "Mr. Wong, Miss Man here was the accountant at her father and uncle's businesses."
"Oh, really?"
"Yes," Gwai Fei continues, "She was a very valued employee."
"Then why isn't she still working there?"
"She wants to depend on herself instead of relationships between family members."
"You two have the same surname, are you related?"
Gwai Fei stops Gwai Yan before she can answer, "No, we're definitely not. She's a friend of my cousin."
"I thought so. You two look nothing alike. Miss Man, please tell me why you are suited for the job."
"Mr. Wong! I've been working here for years, what do you mean..."
"Athena, not you. The other Miss Man."
Gwai Yan stutters, "I like numbers... especially those that deal with money!"
"I see," Wong Sheung says. Gwai Fei winces and prepares to hear him say that Gwai Yan is rejected and wouldn't be getting the job. Wong Sheung continues, "It's nice to do a job that you're passionate about. That's all I ask for and since you love money and numbers, you will be a good accountant. Welcome to 'Ka Yan' company."
Gwai Fei exhales a sigh of relief.
