In a day, "Ka Yan" company had undergone a complete transformation. An enormous Christmas tree greeted whoever walked into the company. Sparkly, metallic beads wrapped themselves around the tree. Delicate ornaments hung from the branches. Multicolored lights flashed all around the tree. A big star at the top finished off "Ka Yan"'s Christmas tree.
Wreaths were hung on every door in the company. Mistletoe were placed in strategic spots on the ceiling. Fake snow covered every inch of the company's floor. The walls of the company were decorated with lights and lovely lace. "Ka Yan" company was literally a beautiful view of Christmas.
Although the company looked gorgeous, the "Ka Yan" employees had no energy to admire their work for they had labored continuously since Wong Sheung (Lau Dan) ordered the company to be remodeled to give a feel for Christmas the other day. Everyone had fallen asleep at his or her work desk.
Wong Sheung walks into "Ka Yan" company and is amazed at the outcome. He smiles, "I knew they weren't a bunch of lazy good-for-nothings!"
The manager from America would be arriving that day. Wong Sheung is shocked at the sight of everyone sleeping. "Wake up!"
Everyone is startled. They blink and rub their eyes to clear their vision, "Mr. Wong!"
Wong Sheung hits his head, "Aiya! The client is coming here soon. What will he think if he sees all of you sleeping? Go freshen up!"
"Mr. Wong, are you trying to kill us? Look at the company! We're too tired."
"I know, I know. Think about this though, if this deal goes through, all of your sacrifices will be worth it!"
Everyone sighs and drags their feet to the bathroom.
"Is this the right place?" a confused voice calls from outside.
Wong Sheung turns around and is surprised to see the American client (Wong He) standing in front of "Ka Yan"'s doors and peering into the company's interior. "Mr. Myers?" Wong Sheung questions.
Mr. Myers blinks, "Is this 'Ka Yan' company? Is this a fashion company or a Christmas wonderland?"
Wong Sheung rushes over to Mr. Myers and shows him around the company, "Please, come in! We've been expecting you."
"Wow, your company looks very nice. Do you go so all-out for the holidays?"
"Of course. Being in the fashion industry, we have to be with the flow of time!"
"I see." Mr. Myers nods his head as he admires the company.
Wong Sheung could hear his employees walking out from the bathrooms already. He was afraid that they would embarass "Ka Yan," so he leads Mr. Myers towards the meeting office and tells him to wait there while they get preparations made. He stops everyone before they enter the main interior.
"Mr. Wong, what's wrong?"
He hushes them; "Mr. Myers is in there already! Everyone be quiet and act professionally!"
[Meeting Office]
"Mr. Myers, do you like our company?" Lily (Rain Lau) asks.
"It's quite pretty."
"Of course," GiGi (Josephine Shum) and Sugar (Yau Ching) say in unison, "Because 'Ka Yan' has us as their flowers."
Mr. Myers chuckles.
"Mr. Myers, so are the preliminary deals that we set over the phone concrete now?" Wong Sheung inquires.
"What? You haven't presented me with anything yet."
"We talked over the phone."
"Yes, but I came here to personally check the designs and view a presentation."
Sweat drips down Wong Sheung's face.
Ah Lo whispers to Ah Yuet, "It seems Mr. Wong got his information wrong!"
Ah Nin (Frankie Lam) speaks up, "Mr. Myers, would you like me to go get the designs from the fashion room?"
He nods his approval, "Go ahead."
Man Gwai Fei (Stephanie Che) clears her throat and says sweetly, "Mr. Myers, what do you think of Hong Kong?"
Mr. Myers smiles, "It's been a long time since I've been back here. My mom was from Hong Kong. I wanted to open an Asian branch of clothing in honor of my mom. Plus, oriental-styled clothing is trendy these days."
"Oh! So that explains why you look Chinese!" Gam (Louis Yuen) blurts out.
"Lau Gam! Don't be so rude to the client!" Wong Sheung orders.
"It's quite all right. People get confused when they see me for the first time too. I guess my mother's genes were dominant! Just look at my chinky eyes and you'll see," Mr. Myers laughs. "Your employees have character, I like that."
Ah Nin comes back with a few models of clothes, all brought in front of Mr. Myer's eyes for perusal. He seems to be pleased with the designs. "These clothes are exactly what I wanted. They capture the oriental beauty and blend in nicely with a modern, western flare. Where is the proposal?"
"Proposal?"
Mr. Myers nods, "Yes. How else am I supposed to know the price, shipping, and so on?"
"I thought we went over that on the phone."
"You can't expect that to warrant a contract deal."
Wong Sheung grows nervous. He had hoped that the Christmas decoration of "Ka Yan" would give them the deal, but it turns out it was going to be a lot harder than that. "We can fix a proposal for you shortly," Wong Sheung says after awhile.
"So your company came unprepared? What business are you conducting? My time is very precious!"
Ah Lam (Linda Chung) walks into the meeting office with a folder and says, "Mr. Myers, please calm down. Mr. Wong was only kidding."
"Oh?"
"Of course! 'Ka Yan' company is very serious when it comes to business. I have prepared a full proposal for you."
"That's good, let's hear it."
Ah Lam presented her proposal to Mr. Myers, who looked very happy and satisfied with everything that he heard.
"Wonderful! I will sign a deal with 'Ka Yan.' To be honest, when I first stepped into your company, I thought you guys were trying to entice me because you heard a stupid rumor that Christmas was my favorite holiday," he laughs, "I don't know who started this rumor, but it's so silly. Business is business!"
Ah Lam smiles and nods in concurrence, "Of course. 'Ka Yan' company will not resort to such cheap tactics. We offer the best for our clients and rely on our own abilities. How else do you suppose we've lasted for over thirty years?"
"Mr. Wong, you're employees are indeed quick and smart."
Wong Sheung laughs nervously and lets out an air of relief, "'Ka Yan' offers only the best."
Ah Lam raises both eyebrows and smiles triumphantly.
