Nim Chi (Nancy Sit) rushes to Fiona (Sherming Yiu), who is cringing and pacing back and forth in front of the bathroom. "Is there something wrong, Fiona?" Nim Chi questions.
"I've been waiting for a long time now and whoever is in the bathroom is taking forever!"
Nim Chi looks at her watch, "Oh, it is Gam (Louis Yuen) and Ying Gei's (Yvonne Lam) shift. They'll be done soon. Because there are so many people in the house and only one bathroom, we all have to take turns using it in pairs. We rotate and take different shifts according to order in the family."
Ah Lo (Bondy Chiu) enters the hallway from her bedroom, looking extremely tired. "Why is there so much ruckus this morning? Ah Yuet (Michael Tse) and I are trying to sleep. Oh, Fiona, I forgot you are staying with us now. If you're waiting to use the bathroom, you might as well go back to your bed and wait. You'll get used to the shift and the wait. They," she points to the bathroom, "take forever!"
Abruptly, the bathroom door opens and Gam emerges saying, "How can I stop nature? When we have to go, we have to, isn't that right?" He laughs. He nudges and winks at Fiona, "If you think we're long, just wait until Ah Lo is in the bathroom. Without putting her 'face' on, she can't walk out of the house!"
At the sudden opening of the door, Ah Lo's eyes open, full of life, and she rushes to bathroom. She is stopped by Nim Chi. "I'm sorry, second daughter-in-law, but there's a change in the shifts now because Ah Sing (Hawick Lau) and Fiona are with us. Because Ah Sing is Ah Yuet's elder, they're going to be ahead of you guys."
"But... but! We've waited for so long!"
Fiona smiles, "Get used to the wait." She calls for Ah Sing and the two enter the bathroom, slamming the door shut in Ah Lo's face.
[Ah Yuet & Ah Lo's Bedroom]
Ah Lo is furious. She has never been more humiliated in her life. She throws her pillow at Ah Yuet, who is still sleeping peacefully. "Oh my god," she screams. "Your mother is so irrational! How can she place Ah Sing and Fiona, who have just gotten here yesterday, in front of us? Especially after we waited so long to use the bathroom! Who are they to think that they can be ahead of us?"
Ah Yuet's reply is muffled by his pillow, "Well, Ah Sing is my big big brother."
She lays down besides Ah Yuet and whispers in his ear, "I think they're here to leech off of our family and split the family fortune with us!"
Ah Yuet laughs, "What fortune? Did you forget that Fiona is a princess? They're royalty! Why would they need our money?"
"It doesn't make sense why they would come back all of a sudden without any word. Plus, they don't know when they're leaving so it can't be a short vacation. Oh god, if Fiona is pregnant, what will become of Foon Foon, Hei Hei, and my future twins?"
"Don't be so silly, honey. There are more things to life than money. Maybe they just wanted to visit us."
"Oh really? Then why don't we just quit our jobs if money is not important."
"Aiya, you know what I mean!"
Ah Lo pouts and folds her arms. Having been reminded by Ah Yuet of Fiona's status, Ah Lo smiles maliciously. "If I'm nice to her, imagine all of the rewards she might give me!" She laughs. Perhaps the addition of Fiona and Ah Sing into the household was a charm for her in disguise.
[Bathroom]
As Ah Sing washes in the shower, he notices that his wife is just standing silently by the wall. "Honey, what's the matter?"
"I'm not used to this," she says with her head bent down.
Ah Sing laughs, "What do you mean? I'm your husband! I know every little detail of your body and I assume you know mine as well. What's there to be embarrassed of? Besides, we've lived together for so long already!"
She walks over to the shower. "I don't feel comfortable with how your family handles the bathroom. What's up with the weird shifts and rule that the bathroom must be used as a couple?"
"Well, there are a lot of people and only one bathroom. What better solution can there be?" Fiona sighs. She remembers how she used to have the bathroom all to herself for hours with servants assisting her. Ah Sing opens the shower curtain and picks Fiona up and places her into the shower with him. "If you're worried about not having any servants service you, then you can stop. You have me, waiting to take your every command and go into every corner." He kisses her and closes the shower curtains. Steam covers the bathroom mirror.
[Dining Table]
"Good morning," Nim Chi greets everyone as they enter.
Seeing Fiona, Ah Lo pulls out a chair besides her and calls, "Fiona! I've saved you a seat. There's a saying that pregnant women emit luck, so come sit by me!"
"Ah Lo, Fiona can't sit there! As Kam family's eldest daughter-in-law, she must sit next to Ah Sing and closer to me of course! Now, you and Ah Yuet move down two spots. Come, Fiona, sit here," Nim Chi instructs.
Ah Lo is flustered.
Fiona looks at the breakfast of stir-fried noodles, congee, and Chinese doughnut. "My, what a grand breakfast!" In her mind, she thought otherwise.
Ah Yat (Joyce Chen) asks, "Big big sister-in-law, how do you like it here so far?"
Fiona smiles, "It's quite ok."
"Ma Chi," Ah Sing begins, "would it be okay if Fiona and I stayed here permanently?"
Nim Chi is delightfully surprised. "Why, of course it is!"
Fiona is shocked. "Fiona, you might want to close your mouth before flies start coming in!" Gam teases.
