(Michelle) Hung Bak Lam is the niece of Ng Sau. She's an orphan and her only relative is her uncle. Ah Lam entered "Ka Yan" company as its new Merchandising Manager to help relieve the work burden of (Athena) Man Gwai Fei. Like Ah Nin, Man Gwai Fei also dislikes Ah Lam and the two are in competition. At first everyone hates her because she's so strict and even meaner than Man Gwai Fei. Eventually, the employees at "Ka Yan" grow to see that Ah Lam has a good heart, but she's just serious when it comes to work. She cares for Sau very much and worries about his health. Outside of "Ka Yan" Ah Lam is a very sweet, kind, and agreeable girl. Nevertheless, she seems to also be very greedy and loves money, so at times it appears that Ah Lam has a case of split-personalities. It turns out that Ah Lam has to put up a facade to fool the world. When she was younger, she overheard from her uncle that her father's family had an in-born heart disease that turned lethal at the age of twenty-eight. Since that time, Ah Lam realized that her life was short and she wanted to make the most of it. She didn't want to hurt anyone when she passed away and she wanted her uncle to be able to live comfortably. Therefore, Ah Lam has to put up the image of being cold-hearted and money-hungry and only think about serious topics like work. Consequently, she rarely has fun or lets herself go because she doesn't have a lot of time. While her beauty attracts many "bees," her flower remains isolated and lonely. This explains her tragic love life. Ah Lam used to date Lau (Yau) Ka Sing, but because of circumstances, they broke up. Her nude body was seen by (Ivan) Sze Gee San, which makes her hate him very much and thinks unfavorably of him. The two fall in love after they pretend to be a couple. Ah Lam hates herself for loving Ah San and resents him for loving her so much. She tries all that she can to get him to stop loving her, but nothing works. His dedication towards her is undying. She realizes that she must spice up her performance, so she brings back the icy facade that drove Ah Sing away in the past. She flirts with Sze Mo and emphasizes to Ah San how much she loves money and men who can provide wealth for her. She belittles him, which finally drives him off the cliff. Her plan finally works and Ah San leaves. She confesses to Kam Yat that she hopes Ah San will mature and become successful because he has a lot to offer. She also doesn't want him to be hurt when she passes away. When Ah San returns successful as Ah Lam had hoped, she is happy, but holds back tears that want to roll from the way he treats her, not knowing how much she did for him and that everything was an act. Finally, her twenty-eighth birthday comes and she spends it in the company of Ah San, who found out the truth. It turns out that Ah Lam doesn't have a heart disease because her birth father isn't the one her mother married. Ah Lam is relieved and can finally be herself and live the way she should have lived so many years ago. No more facades, no more lies, but still a little money-hungry.
